As construction manager for SGS’ 41,000 square foot single story laboratory building, LCS oversaw the design-build tenant improvement project and self-performed the installation of critical lab systems including all casework. The project included approximately 15,000 square feet of laboratory space, 8,000 square feet of office space and 8,000 square feet for future expansion.
The lab is comprised of 11 exhaust fume hoods, snorkel systems and a fully exhausted knock engine room for octane testing. An HVAC supply exhaust with low wall return system was also installed along with explosion proof electrical. Additionally, an inspection room, combustible storage area, and a self-contained sample storage room including explosion proof electrical was added. The lab’s purpose is to test gasoline products to ensure correct blend and octane levels in gasoline samples nationwide.
