Skinner was on the committee for the SoCalBio Golf Classic
event held on June 25, 2010. LCS attended the event and invited
some of their clients to join them. LCS is a
strong supporter of SoCalBio, a non-profit trade association
supporting and promoting the medical device and biotech industries
in Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire and Gold Coast
communities.

Katy Economic Development Council
June 8, 2010
On
Tuesday, June 8, 2010, LCS was honored to celebrate its second
membership anniversary with the Katy Economic Development Council
(Katy EDC). Rachel Ransom and Chris Barrow represented LCS
at the monthly breakfast meeting held at the Merrell Center
in downtown Katy. The purpose of the Katy EDC is to promote,
encourage, and enhance the creation of primary employer
jobs and capital invenstment in the Katy Area. Katy is
located in the Fort Bend, Harris, and Waller Counties, within
the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. Among those
counties, Fort Bend stands out as the highest ranking
county in employment growth in the United States, according
to the U.S. Department of Labor, and is the fastest growing
county in the Greater Houston area.

ExxonMobil Ribbon Cutting
June 8, 2010
LCS
celebrated the completion of ExxonMobil's new quality assurance
lab in Torrance, California with a ribbon cutting ceremony
that was held on June 8, 2010. Excavation for the project began
on April 30, 2009 for the single story facility that allows
for testing the refinery's various petroleum products before
they are distributed to the marketplace. LCS was proud to complete
the new lab and participate in ExxonMobil's future growth.

Industrial Safety Training Council
May 13, 2010
Every
year, the ISTC (Industrial Safety Training Council) recognizes
the outstanding achievements of contractors working in the
Texas Gulf Coast area. On Thursday, May 13, Jeff Kelly
and Rachel Ransom of the Texas Service Department attended
the ISTC Annual Safety Awards Banquet at the Holiday Inn Atrium
Plaza in Beaumont, Texas on behalf of LCS. This year
LCS was recognized for reducing their incident rate and
for working for four years without an OSHA lost workday
incident. Congratulations to everyone in Texas that has
made these accomplishments possible; your hard work is being
recognized!

Open House for Pasadena Bioscience
May 10 , 2010
LCS
has done extensive work for the non-profit organization, Pasadena
Bioscience Collaborative (PBS), which supports the growing
biotechnology industry in the San Gabriel Valley.
David Skinner,
Tiffany Amber Farran and Carey Collier attended this event
which was an open house to highlight the entrepreneurs in biotechnology
that will inhabit the space that Mr. Collier constructed for
them. The Mayor of Pasadena along with other city officials
attended the event.

The Distinguished Speaker Series
April 20 , 2010
Members of the LCS team attended The Distinguished Speaker
Series, a networking dinner and presentation at Chapman University,
in Orange, California. The presentation given by John Semcken
highlighted the plans to bring a football team back to Los
Angeles. It was an exciting presentation full of interesting
facts, models and information detailing the effort that has
gone into this process.

In
February 1996, John Semcken joined Majestic Realty Company
as Vice President and was respon¬sible for the development
of the $400 million Staples Center for the Los Angeles Lakers,
Kings, Clippers, Sparks and Avengers. He negotiated and was
responsible for land acquisition, eminent domain, city ground
leases, entitlements and design for the arena and surrounding
land which will eventually include a convention Hotel, retail
and high rise residential uses.
Mr. Semcken is extremely active
in community and charitable organizations. He currently serves
on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of
Commerce where he also serves on its Executive Committee, the
Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission, the Los An¬geles
Metropolitan YMCA, the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles
Area Council Boy Scouts of America, the Civic Alliance, the
Chino Hills Community Foundation and the US Naval Acad¬emy
Foundation Board of Trustees. He is also the Co-Founder of
The Land of the Free Founda¬tion

CLMA Annual Spring Show

New
members of Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA),
an organization of Laboratory Managers and Directors, LCS attended
the CLMA Annual Spring Show held on April 17, in Duarte, California.
LCS was the only general contractor at the show and is currently
the only general contractor member of this association.

ISPE
April 7 , 2010
LCS
is now a member of International Society of Pharmacoepidemiolgy
(ISPE), the world’s largest non-profit society serving
pharmaceutical science and manufacturing professionals. LCS
helped sponsor the ISPE Event held at the Amgen Headquarters
in Thousand Oaks, California. David Skinner and Tiffany Amber
Farran attended the event on “Lean Construction”,
a design/construction principle that is becoming more and more
popular and requested by Owners in the construction industry.
The host and program manager was Dan Borton, Global Strategic
Sourcing at Amgen.

MD&M West Laboratory Technologies Exposition
February 10, 2010
LCS attended the MD&M West Laboratory Technologies Exposition
on February 10th, 2010 at the Anaheim Convention Center in
Anaheim, California. The medical manufacturing exposition included
attendees from companies such as Abbott, 3M, Clarient, and
Abraxis, all of which are current and past clients of LCS. Additionally,
other life science industries attended such as Allergan, Biotex
Inc., and Edward’s Lifesciences. David Skinner and
Tiffany Amber Farran attended the expo to network and learn
about new technologies in order to better serve LCS’ clients.

Jack
Miller Network
January 20-22, 2010
LCS attended the 45th Meeting
of Jack Miller Network members in Orlando, Florida. Held January
20-22, 2010, the network meeting consisted of three eight hour
days dedicated to focus group sessions; each session was spent
addressing and exploring different areas of better business
practices for executives in the construction industry. Led
by a member of the Jack Miller Network, there are no “professional” instructors
for the focus groups, but rather real life executives who are
experts in their field/topic. Each focus group is designed
with a structure created by the focus group leader in an open
style discussion for all participants to add and share information.
David Skinner, Vice President of LCS, attended high management
focus groups while Tiffany Amber Farran, Manager of Business
Development and Marketing, attended healthcare industry focused
and marketing focused sessions. LCS plans to lead a focus group
next year.

Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA)
Los Angeles
January 5, 2010
LCS recently became members of the
Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) Los Angeles,
an organization for Laboratory Managers and Directors. LCS
will exhibit at the annual Spring Show in April 2010 and will
be the only general contractor members of the organization.
The organization is managed by heads of large Medical Industry
Firms such as The President of the CLMA Los Angeles Chapter,
Kathleen Clark, who is also the Director of Pathology and Laboratory
Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
