Project Engineer – Southern California - Los Angeles
/ Orange

Constructors, Inc. (LCS), an established, innovative, market-leading
specialty construction firm based in South Orange County, is
seeking a Project Engineer for a client base that includes
Fortune 500 companies. Our projects include large turn-key
design and construction of laboratories and technical facilities
for a variety of industries.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in bidding process, material takeoffs and other
estimating functions as required.
- Performs subcontract and trade scoping and writes scope
of work outlines.
- Track and maintain subcontract status and changes.
- Establish, maintain and update project logs.
- Produce master schedule updates.
- Process project submittals between client, design team
and subcontractors.
- Perform detailed submittal/shop drawing reviews.
- Communicate with Owners and Architects.
- Writes and distributes progress meeting minutes.
- Support PM on RFI resolution.
- Assistance, as required, for change order management process.
- Performs various project management tasks as assigned by
the Project Manager.
- Assists Project Manager and Superintendent in Quality Control.
- Coordinate quality inspection events with necessary subcontractors
and/or testing agencies and Quality Control Technician.
- Provide on-site field construction inspections on assigned
projects.
- Audit project quality program documents routinely.
- Manages and completes completion list and project punch
list.
- Fosters an enthusiastic, creative "can do" attitude.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture,
Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in construction, with minimum
2 years on complex commercial construction in a project controls
position.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in
writing.
- Work effectively with others and to be flexible in work
assignments, and assimilate and understand information in
a manner consistent with the essential functions.
- Strong computer skills and aptitude.
- Comprehend construction scheduling.
- Meticulous reviewing contracts.
- Familiar with applicable building codes and standards.
- Work independently a majority of the time.
