Senior Project Manager – Southern California – Los Angeles / Orange

10+ years of progressive experience with complex construction and design/build projects

Education: BA in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.

A Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution and closeout of their respective projects and the overall management of the “project team”. . We are looking for a problem solving, detail-oriented team leader, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The senior project manager is a line management position with direct accountability over multiple projects and (and project teams) and therefore it is highly important for them to have outstanding motivational, leadership, and team building skills.

Essential Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Strong presentations skills and the ability to develop both new business with and maintain lasting relationships with existing customers
Experience in leading Design/Build teams and projects
Must have experience writing and negotiating Contracts/Subcontracts.
Meet with executive teams in order to review project
Develop and implement an operational schedule (independent from estimating) with constantly updated “look-ahead” data from the project delivery team. Select vendors, negotiate and award subcontracts and major purchase Orders
Maintain the company’s relationship with project architects and other consultants while encouraging other team members to develop and maintain these relationships
Be accountable for profitability, schedule compliance, field and office quality assurance, customer satisfaction and repeat business
Maintain excellent relationships with clients
Maintain open communication with and manage all subcontractors
Negotiate and process change orders, approve invoices, complete payment requests, control cost and budget, develop revenue and profit projections
Ensure that project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities, Qualifications and Experience:

Mentor and train Project engineers and junior project managers for fast paced growth development
Provide feedback and performance grades to management of the performance for all LCS team members assigned to their respective projects
Assist the leadership team in the establishment of new training programs for the team
A candidate must possess; Excellent listening and communication skills, a strong sense of urgency, a “can-do” attitude, ability to resolve complex issues, ability to create and support team morale, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Project management software, accounting cost management software and scheduling software. Solid math skills are a must along with organizational skills.
