Green
LCS is focused on finding solutions to address the global
challenges of emissions, energy demand, climate change, water
availability, waste, hazardous materials, green materials,
efficiency and life cycle product management.
Green building, also known as green construction or sustainable
building, is the practice of creating structures and using
processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient
throughout a building's life cycle.
The common objective for LCS is to create buildings designed
to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human
health and the natural environment by:
- Efficiently using energy, water and other resources
- Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation
- Planning for the current and future needs and use of the
facility
- Promote the use of locally produced and recycled/renewable
materials into the building
- Protecting occupant health and improving employee
productivity
- Take full advantage of local conditions and building orientation
to reduce carbon “footprint” generated by the
building systems
