Baker Hughes
- Center for Completions Performance Technology
Houston TX
Completion Date: July 08
Project details:
LCS recently completed a research laboratory for oilfield
wellhead completions study which has a total 14,000 sf,
including 11,000 sf of lab and 2,000 SF support area. This
laboratory facility is a showplace for Baker Hughes and
includes a glass wall adjacent to the lobby which allows
visitors and employees to see the lab as they pass through.
The lab includes a 900 sf contained lab for corrosion testing.
This area will commonly use Hydrogen Sulfide and is therefore
on separate systems with stainless steel duct and a scrubber
for the exhaust.
LCS designers worked closely with
the Baker Hughes team for over a year, identifying all of the needs in the
new facility as well as the entire range of equipment to be relocated
from other sites. LCS provided the casework, plumbing and
exhaust systems for this new lab. Exhaust duct for
the main lab was fabricated using PVC coated galvanized round
duct.
Lab also included a high pressure nitrogen system (1200 psi)
with on site pressure boost system.
