Christie Digital Systems
Cypress, California
Project Description
LCS recently started two projects for Christie Digital Systems;
an expansion project and a renovation project. The expansion

restrooms. The project includes a new mezzanine structure for
the 880 square foot second floor addition which will house
the server room and 600 square feet on the ground floor for
restroom upgrades. The server room includes the installation

added fitness center.
Additionally, LCS is wrapping up a lobby renovation which
converted a portion of the existing lobby area into a product
display area to showcase Christie Digital Systems’ new
microtiles – a rear type of projection screen. The 1,000

California
Institute of Technology
Pasadena, California
Project Description
LCS is currently performing
a design-build renovation for the California Institute of Technology.
The new research laboratory facility is being built for Professor
Keith Schwab and is located in the sub-basement of the existing
Kellogg Laboratory Building which was built in the 1930’s.
LCS
is creating the 3,100 square foot research lab which requires
two 5’ x
7’ x 12’ deep pits where Professor Schwab can
install two large vessels where extremely low temperature experiments
will be conducted.
LCS is facing many complexities with this
project as site logistics are a major challenge. Since the
lab is located in the sub-basement, there is no freight elevator;
therefore most excavation must be done by hand and there is
approximately 100 cubic yards of dirt that will be removed
from the site. Additional
project challenges include routing the make-up air and the
exhaust air duct work due to the physical location of the project
Start Date: First Quarter 2010
Expected Completion Date: Third Quarter 2010
