Hashinger Hall BSL2 Laboratory, Chapman University
Location: Orange, California
Completed: February 2013
Architect: ADAY Architecture

LCS was tasked with completing a tenant improvement for Chapman University’s Hashinger Hall BSL2 (Bio-Safety Level 2) laboratory. The 400 square foot lab space included the installation of metal casework with epoxy tops, epoxy wall finishes, welded seam sheet vinyl flooring, and an acid waste plumbing system.
The BSL2 lab was built to semi-cleanroom specification with an ANTE room and required negative pressure. As a result, LCS installed a HEPA filter exhaust fan module which enabled LCS to achieve negative pressure ensuring no contaminants were exhausted onto the campus.
