“Our
margin for error in completing the build out of our new lab was
very small. We needed a contractor who had experience in laboratory
construction and a track record of on-time and on-budget projects.
During our
search, LCS quickly stood out as a company that could deliver
the results we were looking for. Looking back on the project,
we certainly made the right choice.”

Project
Overview
LCS
was selected by Clarient, Inc. to build their new 78,000
sf corporate headquarters and laboratories Aliso Viejo,
California. LCS provided design-build services associated
with the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering.
This facilitated the design process and integrated value
engineering into the initial design concepts.
Clarient’s
need for continuous operations required that the project
be delivered in multiple phases.
Phase
I: Design and construction of 26,000 square
feet of laboratory and support space for occupancy. This
was delivered in less than five months. Phase I completion
allowed Clarient’s laboratory and administrative
employees to take occupancy.
Phase
II: Represented the build out of roughly 27,000
square feet of administrative and executive suites, as
well as the product development portion of Clarient’s
new corporate home.
Phase
III: The exterior renovation of the structure
and the site was completed along with additional office
areas for future use by Clarient or possible sublease
to start-up companies.
LCS’s
Team was successful in meeting the needs of blending two
different facilities and business aspects (i.e. research
and manufacturing) into one business unit. The Team also
met their goal of providing cost-efficient methods of handling
project re-designs. |
