LCS Receives ABC STEP Award

September 2014

safety trainingLCS was recently awarded the Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Award through the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC). The goal of the training program is to help general and sub-contractors measure progress from year to year in order to create safe and productive workforces. The program supports general and sub-contractors track progress, areas needing improvement, and offers special recognition for companies achieving outstanding safety records.

The safety awards were distributed during ABC’s Safety Roundtable and STEP Award Luncheon held on September 30, 2014 in Anaheim, California. And, as part of the luncheon and awards, there was a safety roundtable discussion on improving safety culture on job sites.

LCS continues working diligently to operate safe construction sites and maintain excellent EMR ratings. Congratulations to each LCS team member for their participation and support in achieving this award as well as maintaining safe work sites.


New Team Member and New Territory for LCS

LCS recently added David Godkin to the LCS team essentially launching the opening of a new office. David is Division Manager of LCS’ Northern California operations where his primary focus will be on the support and expansion LCS' laboratory design and construction operations in Northern California. We are very excited to have him on our team!

LCS Adds Engineer to the Team

June 2014

LCS recently added mechanical and industrial engineer, Dan Milgrim, P.E., to its Consultancy Group as Director of Engineering. As a greatly respected laboratory engineer professional, Dan will be responsible for developing and reviewing the basis of design of critical laboratory systems as well as developing solutions to MEP that can affect laboratory performance. We are very excited to have him on our team!

LCS exhibited at MD&M West, the largest Medical Design and Manufacturing show in the world, at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, California. This event showcased three days of medical design and life science cutting edge research. LCS co-presented with leading design-build engineering firm, IPS, on the topic of, “Risk Assessment of Classified Environments and Laboratories”. LCS will once again be present at MD&M’s 2015 event in February. Stay tuned for more information.


LCS Employee Takes Top-Honors at the ABC Regional Craft Championships Competition!!

Patrick Metzger was the first place winner in the Electrical Residential-Commercial division held at Associated Builders and Contractors Southern California Chapter (ABC SoCal) 20th Annual Craft Championships in Anaheim, California – 2014. The regional competition includes a written test along with hands-on practical performance tests in: electrical industrial-commercial, electrical residential-commercial, and plumbing.

Congratulations to all of the competitors who did an incredible job representing ABC’s So-Cal Chapter; we are so proud of them!
